Duke of Newcastle

Freemasonry has a rich and storied history, as depicted in this engraving of the Duke of Newcastle's installation, circa 1860.

History is made at the local lodge, as well as the international stage.  St. John's Lodge No. 63 is a proud part of the community in Carleton Place Ontario Canada.  It's history is interwoven with that of the community, as Freemasonry's history is interwoven with that of the world. On this page, we are pleased to be able to share some of that history with you, in a collection of articles and papers on Freemasonry in general, and with a special emphasis on St. John's Lodge No. 63.
